Born in the Philippine province of Quezon, Nasser Lubay is a self-taught visual artist. He explores on a wide spectrum of artistic styles and contemporary techniques: painting, digital graphics, photography, installations, videos, and live media.
With a young career that started only in 2009, Nasser has already made quite a number of accomplishments. Nasser holds the lone distinction of being the only Filipino to have won at the Celeste Prize. Titled Rebirth, this watercolor masterpiece was awarded 2nd honors at this prestigious art competion in Berlin, Germany.
Recently he was chosen as one of the 2010 Young Ambassadors for the food brand Jollibee, representing the field of arts.
Nasser was also invited to participate in the first major cross strait international art show, the Animamix Biennial 2009-2010 Taiwan and China. He also made waves at the 2009 Kuala Lumpur Design Week for the World Eco bag Exhibition.
His works are constantly inpired by the realities of the vast multi culture society where he is part of. He infuses diferrent art styles and movements taken from diferrent parts of the world and creates new forms and aethetics. His works mostly take off from emotions captured and felt at a particular special moment.
