chadmora's Biography

Chad Mora is a self taught folk artist who specializes in mixing acrylic paints and canvas with artifacts that would be discarded by other people. What other people might see as junk, Mora discovers the memories of the past owner and feels that should not be lost by throwing it away. Mora's art lets the viewer discover something new every time they view it. 95% of Mora's work is from recycled items that he has collected over the years. Wood spindles, copper, old nails, and dice bring life to his caved figures. In 2008 one of Mora's pieces titled Soldedera was selected to be displayed at the Dia De Los Muertos celebration at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles. Featured in local newspapers, 951 magazine, and Vintage magazine. Mora's popularity is growing. Chad pulls much of his inspiration from being dragged by his parents to antique shows at a early age. He quickly gained an appreciation for vintage items and this is reflected in his work
